The Cherished Children
Na Mamo®, the cherished offspring, started as a dream in 1992. The club developed this mission statement,
We are a young Hawaiian `Ohana dedicated to the perpetuation of the `Ohana Spirit through social interaction and education. Our founding premise encompasses the promotion of Lokahi (family unity) through love and sharing.
Through many years of meetings and functions the club has grown into a true `ohana that grows daily with its focus on continued community service, educational enrichment opportunities, building leadership skills, and most of all an understanding of the Hawaiian Culture.

Community signature events such as the Kanikapila Jam (1993) and E Hula Mau® (1995) have been foremost in the public's eye. However, Na Mamo® throughout the years have offered workshops and lectures featuring Lei Making, History of Cultural Practices including Ho`oponopono, Hawaiian Genealogy, Surfing, Hula and Chant, Hawaiian Native Issues. At club meetings, they have shown many cultural video presentations on current and historical Hawaiian events. Na Mamo® continues their outreach to the community by partnering with other associations to develop programs and present opportunities to educate people on the Hawaiian culture. The club is currently working with The Nature Conservancy of Hawai`i on Moloka`i to help preserve what is left of the native plant and animal population. There is no limit to building a better understanding and the perpetuation of the Hawaiian culture. Na Mamo® looks forward toward their role in this process.

In order to educate the community club members are encouraged to learn the Hawaiian Culture themselves by participating in various member development events. Throughout these events each person stretches their limit, as they not only experience the culture but also learn about themselves. As our forefathers before us have passed down the precious traditions of the islands, the long standing members of Na Mamo® also pass down their leadership skills and club history as they mentor others to reach their full potential. From adult responsibilities to the keiki responsibilities, leadership opportunities are always available in the Na Mamo® `Ohana.
God has blessed the sacrifice, dedication and continuous efforts of both the new and the long established members of Na Mamo®. The club has ultimately accomplished its mission statement, but moreover leaves the community and the upcoming generations of Hawaiians and Hawaiians at heart with a promising future of the perpetuation of the Hawaiian Culture and what it means to live Aloha.
Imua Na Mamo®!
