A workshop is to be presented at 8am Sunday, August 31st at the Hawaiian Cultural Village by Hokulani Holt-Padilla; the topic will be "From Story to Mele". Story and mele are intricately woven together..sometimes from antiquity and sometimes from today. A discussion will be held on how traditional stories are the backdrop for today's composers and mele. The lessons and inspiration reaches through time to touch us today. |
