Planning the 14th edition of the E Hula Mau Hula and Chant Competition has begun. As always, the event will be held on Labor Day weekend, which this year is from Friday August 29th to Sunday August 31st. The event will once again be held at the Terrace Theater at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Kamehameha Schools Publishing, in support of Hawaiian literature, culture, and E Hula Mau, will be giving away a set of five products to one winner each day of the competition. Please see the Kamehameha Schools booth to register for the prizes free of charge. Winners will be announced every day before the awards ceremony.

Every winner will receive `Olelo `Oiwi: Hawaiian Language Fundamentals and Hawaiian Games to Play. Winners will receive additional books each day as described below:

Friday's Books: Humehume of Kaua`i, Hulili: Multidisciplinary Research on Hawaiian Well-Being, and the 2009 Ke Ala o ka Mahina (Hawaiian Moon Calendar).

Saturday's Books: White Rainbow, Black Curse, Lumpy Poi and Twisting Eels, and Blazing Stars and Shark Eyes.

Sunday's Books: Lauka`ie`ie, No ke Kumu `Ulu, and No ka `Elepaio Kolohe.
