Genealogy Lecture

Where do you come from? Why is it important to know? Come and learn why it is important to know your ancestry and how this relates to the Hawaiian values.

Our guest speaker, Akoni Akana says, "The knowledge perpetuated by our ancestors can be found in one's genealogy, Mo`oku`auhau, for within the genealogy our ancestors, their stories, history, myth and legends, LIVE".

Akoni will present an intriguing lecture and share how to create your own genealogy chant, "Hawaiian style". Bring paper, pen and a list of your immediate relatives.

  • Day: Sunday, Sep 5th
  • Time: 8:00 am
  • Place: Hawaiian Cultural Village at the Terrace Theater
